Donate Blood At McLean Volunteer Fire Department In Late January

MCLEAN, VA — The need for blood donations is continuous at Inova Blood Donor Services, and the COVID-19 pandemic has added extra challenges to maintaining the supply. Blood donation centers as well as blood drives at community locations help ensure blood donations continue to come in, supporting the needs of Inova's patients.

One of these upcoming blood drives will be hosted by the McLean Volunteer Fire Department. On Friday, Jan. 28 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., a blood drive will be hosted in the McLean Fire Station's Lowell Avenue parking lot, 1455 Laughlin Avenue, McLean VA.

To make a blood donation, sign up online for an appointment, call 1-866-BLOODSAVES (1-866-256-6372) and use sponsor code 8507, or contact Eddie Hicks at 571-220-1227 or Edward.Hicks@inova.org.

The blood drive will be held in the blood mobile outside, so dress warmly. To protect fire station personnel, public access to the fire station is prohibited. Donors should avoid contact with fire station operational staff as they go to and from the station.

The volunteer fire department and Inova Blood Donor Services will take health and safety precautions to ensure the safety of donors and staff. To find other blood donation opportunities, visit www.inovablood.org.
