Donate books to AAUW Used Book Sale this week - then buy 'new-to-you' reads next week

MUNCIE, Ind. — Donations of new and clean used books, puzzles, DVDs and CDs (music and books) for the AAUW Used Book Sale will be accepted 8 a.m.-4 p.m. now through Friday, May 27, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Ball State University Alumni Center, 2800 W. Bethel Ave.

Carts will be available to unload books at the front door of the alumni center, and donors may temporarily park at the entrance of the center.

No textbooks, damaged books, dictionaries, almanacs or encyclopedia sets will be accepted.

The American Association of University Women Used Book Sale, co-sponsored by Indiana Public Radio, will begin Tuesday, May 31, and continue through June 4. Book sale hours will be:

  • 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, May 31-June 1.

  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 2 and 3.

  • 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4. Book prices will be reduced for a bag sale on June 4, to $5 for a grocery-sized bag of books.

During the sale, free parking will be available for attendees in the Ball State Alumni Center parking lot.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the Muncie Branch of AAUW and IPR. The Muncie Branch of AAUW uses its proceeds to support its nontraditional student scholarships. For the 2022-23 school year, the group will award three $1,500 scholarships to Delaware County residents.
