A small group of area residents are looking for donations to help with engineering costs for the Safe Routes to School project. This path will connect the Columbia schools and the Lake Columbia/Clarklake areas to the village of Brooklyn. Once the engineering costs are taken care of, grants will cover the rest of the project. If you would like to donate to the cause, your tax-deductible donation can be made to the Irish Hills Community Legacy, PO Box 805, Brooklyn, MI 49230 with a notation on your check “donation for SRTS project.” Online donations can be made at irishhillslegacy.com.
