Donations wanted for yarn storm

May 17—Cobb County is gathering donations of knitted and crocheted squares for the 2022 Yarn Storm project in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

The project is being coordinated by Cobb County Government, the Cobb District Attorney's Office and LiveSafe Resources.

The 6-inch and 10-inch squares can be in any color or design and will be used to install yarn storming displays on June 15. Participants need to bring their donation by June 8 to one of the following locations:

— 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta. There will be a collection box located inside the building for donations.

— Cobb Senior Wellness Center, 1150 Powder Springs Street in Marietta.

— Freeman Poole Senior Center, 4025 South Hurt Road in Smyrna.

— North Cobb Senior Center, 3900 South Main Street inside Kennworth Park in Acworth.

— Tim D. Lee Senior Center, 3332 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta.

— West Cobb Senior Center, 4915 Dallas Highway in Powder Springs.

— Participants may also mail their completed pieces to: Cobb District Attorney's Office, 70 Haynes Street, Third Floor, Marietta GA 30090.
