If you're planning to do some holiday shopping at Scottsdale Fashion Square and around Old Town, there are plenty of dining and drinking options to choose from when you need a break.

In the last year, several exciting new restaurants opened at Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale, including Moxies, Pour Decisions and One Handsome Bastard. And just a few minutes away, check out other newcomers like Grounds on 2nd coffee shop and urban market and the new high-end Japanese steakhouse Donabe, located at the W Scottsdale hotel.

Here are some of the most exciting new restaurants and bars near Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Donabe

A new high-end Japanese steakhouse is open inside the W Scottsdale hotel, just half a mile from Fashion Square. The restaurant serves wagyu steaks, sushi, rolls and dishes like king salmon, duck and foie gras fried rice, king crab legs and a wagyu cheeseburger. Drink options include craft cocktails and wine by the glass or bottle.

The Eleanor

A new brunch concept called The Eleanor is now open in south Scottsdale, about a ten-minute drive from Fashion Square. From the owners of Fate Brewing, The Eleanor offers a straightforward menu based on egg dishes like breakfast hash, scrambles, benedicts and omelets, plus other breakfast items like pancakes and toast. The drinks menu includes craft cocktails such as a michelada, breakfast old fashioned, papaya spicy margarita and a mixed-up mimosa.

EVO

EVO is an upscale Italian restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale that serves pastas, pizzas, bruschetta and Italian meat and seafood dishes. They also have a large wine selection and offer carefully selected wine pairings with their main dishes. A second location opened in north Scottsdale in 2023.

Grounds on 2nd

Grounds on 2nd is a coffee shop, wine bar and urban market from the teams behind Mythic Goat Coffee and Rift Wine & Tap. They offer hand-roasted coffee, craft beer, wine, olives, cheeses, jams and grab-and-go lunch items, perfect for a quick stop before or after a big shopping day. The market is a mile from Fashion square — about four minutes by car.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

James Beard award-winner Jeni Britton has opened a Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams storefront in Old Town Scottsdale to sell her unique ice cream flavors, from goat cheese with red cherries and wild berry lavender to Riesling poached pear sorbet, making for a unique and delicious snack between shopping.

Moxies

Canada-based restaurant Moxies made its Arizona debut in August at Scottsdale Fashion Square. The restaurant occupies 12,000-square-feet and can seat 350 guests in its indoor-outdoor dining room anchored by a large island bar in the center. The upscale menu includes short rib Bolognese, chicken madeira rigatoni, chipotle mango chicken, baby back ribs and prime ribeye steak.

One Handsome Bastard

One Handsome Bastard is a new micro-distillery and grill in Old Town Scottsdale. The restaurant menu includes burgers, flatbreads and starters like pub pretzels and crispy bacon brussels. The distillery also produces Blue Clover Spirits and One Handsome Bastard Vodka.

Pour Decisions

The former owners of Ginger Monkey Gastropub opened a new bar in Old Town Scottsdale after appearing on "Restaurant Impossible" on Food Network. Pour Decisions offers mason jar salads, mini cheese and pepperoni pizza pies and loaded, dusted or smothered fries.

STK Steakhouse, which has 14 locations in the United States and eight international locations from Dubai to Mexico City, offers steaks sold in small, medium and large categories. The restaurant also offers a shellfish platter and a variety of salads and starters like jumbo lump crab cakes and sliders.

STK Scottsdale recently unveiled a new rooftop space overlooking the canal. The rooftop is open for dinner on Thursday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to midnight. Brunch is also available on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
