Don't go to Ukraine as foreign fighters: State Dept. to US citizens

The Ukrainian embassy in Washington, DC, reports some 6,000 inquiries from people, mostly Americans, who want to volunteer as foreign fighters. But it's not possible to vet many of the applicants, and about half were rejected immediately because of age, lack of experience, or criminal record.

The U.S. State Department urges Americans not to become foreign fighters. In addition to their personal risk, American citizens risk U.S. national security by entering Ukraine, becoming targets.
