Don't want to cook Thanksgiving dinner? Here are dine-in options in Greater Canton

Thanksgiving is a holiday that people traditionally gather at home to have dinner with family.

The turkey. The cranberry sauce. The dressing. The aunts. The uncles. The grandparents.

But that's not everyone's tradition.

Some folks prefer to leave the cooking — and cleaning — to the professionals and go out to dinner. And there are plenty of restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving if you choose to eat out.

Here's a selection of some of them in and around Stark County:

Amish Door, 1210 Winesburg St., Wilmot. Thanksgiving buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with turkey, ham, chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, dressing, green beans, sweet potatoes, noodles, roll, beverage, plus salad bar and your choice of a slice of apple pie, pumpkin bar, or pumpkin pie. Beau's on the River, 1989 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls., Thanksgiving Day brunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the restaurant at the Sheraton Suites. The brunch includes breakfast offerings, a variety of starters including a full salad bar, carved or sliced turkey breast, ham, pork loin, cod, Thanksgiving sides, kids' options and desserts. Cracker Barrel, 6940 Sunset Strip Ave. NW, Jackson Township. Open regular business hours, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey, cornbread dressing and gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and cranberry relish, available beginning at 11 a.m. For more information, call the restaurant at 330-966-1144. Fleming's Steakhouse, 400 Medina Road, Copley Township. A three-course Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. The meal includes salad or lobster bisque, herb-roasted turkey breast with turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans with apricots and onions, cinnamon orange cranberry sauce and a choice of harvest New York cheesecake or carrot cake. Cost is $56 each.

Galaxy Restaurant, 201 Park Centre Drive, Wadsworth. The restaurant will be open for a Thanksgiving Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reservations are required by calling 330-334-3663. The buffet includes a salad bar, sides ranging from sweet potatoes to macaroni and cheese, beef tenderloin and chef-carved turkey and desserts. Coffee, hot tea and iced tea are included. Cost is $39.95 for adults, $21.95 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children younger than age 5.

Cooked, ready-to-eat Thanksgiving dinners also are available for pickup. Cost is $75 for two people or $225 for six people. The meals include house salad, turkey, Yankee pot roast, sides and dessert.
