Donut Monster plans to open third location in downtown Cedarburg this fall

Donut Monster, featuring scratch-made doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches and coffee, plans to open its third location, this one in downtown Cedarburg.

Owners Jackie and Sara Woods are planning to open the new location at W62 N634 Washington Ave. in October. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

"We have our Donut Monster flair, and we're holding true to the history of the building," said Sara Woods. "It'll be aesthetically really fun and an exciting place to be."

The menu features scratch-made doughnuts with homemade fillings and glazes. Flavors include brown butter, chocolate espresso and cinnamon toast, among others. The menu also includes breakfast sandwiches made on from-scratch English muffins.

Drinks include nitro cold brew, Japanese caramel nitro cold latte, honey n' oats nitro cold latte, juices and hot chocolate.

The couple debuted the business at Cedarburg's 2018 Strawberry Festival. Now, they're back in Cedarburg opening up their new location. "It's kind of funny," Sara said.

"We started with doughnuts just because we saw a need for from-scratch doughnuts in the Milwaukee area," she added.

Co-owner Jackie Woods is a classically trained chef and has worked at fine dining restaurants in Milwaukee, including Ardent and Bacchus.

After years of selling at farmers markets, the couple opened their first location at 5169 N Elkhart Ave., Whitefish Bay, in July 2021, and opened the second in the Historic Third Ward at 316 N. Milwaukee St. in August 2021.
