The Two Mississippi Museums will offer a private screening of the recent motion picture "Till" and an opportunity for attendees to interact with members of the Till family, special guests and next generation of youth leaders.
Unfortunately no more free tickets are available for the free screening of the 2022 movie that tells the story of Emmett Till, a young Black boy who was killed by two white men while visiting rural Mississippi in 1954. His killing helped spark the Civil Rights Movement.
The museums also will feature guided tours of important sites and landmarks associated with Emmett Till's life and death, including the courthouse where his murderers were acquitted and the site where his body was found. The tours promise to shed light on the ongoing struggle for racial justice and to inspire visitors to become advocates for change in their own communities.
Another option for this weekend is live music from The Doobie Brothers, who will be kicking off their 50th Anniversary tour Saturday at the Brandon Amphitheater.
Check out other weekend entertainment options in the Jackson area for more details on those events and more below.
