TWINSBURG – Dooridge Drive improvements are expected to get underway in spring 2023 after City Council awarded a $2 million contract Nov. 22 to Fechko Excavating LLC of Medina.

The project is designed to make necessary repairs and maintenance to Dooridge Drive, replacing an aging waterline, upgrading storm and sanitary sewer systems and reconstructing the roadway.

American Rescue Plan Act funds totaling $385,000 will be used for the project. Other amounts are $718,000 from the street construction, maintenance and repair fund, $125,000 from the water fund, $260,000 from the stormwater improvement fund and $515,354 from the sanitary sewer improvement fund.

The city has obtained an $825,000 loan for the project from the Ohio Public Works Commission.

The project was scheduled to be completed this year, but engineer Amy Mohr said bids came in too high and city officials decided to postpone and rebid the project. Fechko’s bid is lower than the previous bids.
