Dorman lineman a regular visitor to USC. Latest stop ‘a great experience overall’

Dorman High School offensive lineman Markee Anderson was back in Columbia on Saturday for a junior day, what he believed was his fifth visit with the Gamecocks dating back to last summer.

USC actually was his first scholarship offer. While that won’t be much of an influence in his decision, it does leave the Class of 2023 prospect with good feelings toward Shane Beamer, offensive line coach Greg Adkins and the program overall.

“It was a great experience overall,” Anderson said. “Hospitality was great. Great everything, honestly. Facilities were obviously nice. And just all-around great people. I spent a little bit more time with the coaches to get to know them more on a personal level.”

In particular, Anderson (6-5, 280) sat down in a group with Adkins, a meeting he said proved to be beneficial both ways.

“There was a little session period for the offensive linemen to go to Coach Adkins, and we just sat down and talked about where we’re from and all that,” Anderson said. “I’d say (the relationship) is great, honestly. I think there is a lot of respect there. I respect him as a coach, and I think he does respect me as a player.”

Anderson also got time with Beamer.

“He said just keep going and he looks forward to having me down there,” Anderson said. “I just overall have a great impression of them.”

Anderson was supposed to visit North Carolina on Jan. 15, but the weather postponed that. This coming weekend he will go to either Chapel Hill or Clemson. He has visited both in the past. He does not have any visits set for March at this point.

Anderson recently picked up an offer from Washington. He also has offers from West Virginia, Arkansas, Florida State and Virginia Tech.
