The release date for Book 3 of DOTA: Dragon's Blood, the Dota 2 animated series on Netflix, has been announced.

The show's third season will air on 11 August, likely marking the conclusion of Davion and Mirana's battle against Terrorblade.

DOTA: Dragon's Blood premiered on 25 March 2021 and follows the adventures of iconic Dota 2 heroes Davion the Dragon Knight and Mirana the Princess of the Moon.

While Davion and Mirana are the main protagonists, other Dota 2 heroes such as Invoker, Terrorblade, and Luna also feature prominently in the show.

Season two was released on 18 January this year and introduced new heroes to the story, including Winter Wyvern and Lina, alongside a growing cast of other characters.

Netflix hasn't released any information on the upcoming season apart from the release date and still images.

Fans of the show can expect a trailer to come out soon, as the first trailer for DOTA: Dragon's Blood Book 2 was released three months before the season's premiere.

The impact of DOTA: Dragon's Blood has gone beyond Netflix and even affected Dota 2 itself.

Marci, who is one of the most popular characters in the show, ended up being ported into the game as a playable hero.

Dragon Knight and Mirana also received personas in recent Battle Pass releases that let them take the field as they appeared in DOTA: Dragon's Blood.

In the recently-released patch 7.31d, Marci was also officially introduced to Captain's Mode, the mode used in competitive Dota 2 matches.

As with previous seasons, all episodes of DOTA: Dragon's Blood Book 3 will be available upon release.

While Netflix has yet to confirm the number of episodes for the new season, it is expected to have the same number of episodes as Books 1 and 2, which had eight episodes.

DOTA: Dragon's Blood is being produced by Ashley Edward Miller, known for his work in X-Men: First Class, Thor, and Black Sails, in collaboration with Valve and is animated by Studio MIR, the studio behind Avatar: The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.
