The Northern Iowa wrestling team's home-opening dual meet resulted in a milestone victory for head coach Doug Schwab.

The 19th-ranked Panthers eviscerated Wyoming, 33-3, at the McLeod Center on Thursday night. In doing so, Schwab secured his 100th career victory as Northern Iowa's coach. He is the fourth Panther wrestling coach to hit 100 career dual meet wins, joining Chuck Patten (218), Don Briggs (163) and Dave McCuskey (102).

Northern Iowa is now 3-1 this season, adding Thursday night's win to its 2-1 showing at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in New Orleans last month. On Thursday, the Panthers never trailed, winning 9-of-10 weights and scoring two pins, from Kyle Biscoglia at 133 pounds and Parker Keckeisen at 184, to beat the winless Cowboys (0-3).

The highlight of the dual came at 157 pounds, where Derek Holschlag won 4-3 over 10th-ranked Jacob Wright. Holschlag, ranked 24th by InterMat, scored a takedown with 12 seconds left in the third period to secure the upset. It gave Northern Iowa an 18-0 lead midway through the dual, too.

This was a very workmanlike performance from Northern Iowa overall. The Panther racked up 17 total takedowns and allowed just two. They won four matches by three points or less and two more by four points. The only loss came at 174, where Carson Babcock stepped in for Lance Runyon and lost to 33rd-ranked Hayden Hastings, 4-3.

Schwab and the Panthers will get a crack at win No. 101 on Sunday, when they travel to Columbia, Mo., to wrestle the fourth-ranked Tigers. That dual is schedule to start at 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed on FloWrestling.
