  • Dove Cameron confirmed that Maddie from the show Liv and Maddie was gay.

  • Her sister, Liv, was bisexual.

  • She also confirmed that her character Mal from Descendants was pansexual and Ruby from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was asexual.

So many of us hope to see LGBTQ+ representation in the shows and media we watch, but sometimes it isn't always confirmed or denied. Luckily, Dove Cameron put some fans speculations to rest yesterday on Twitter when she shared details on the characters she's played. First, she confirmed that Maddie from the hit Disney show Liv and Maddie was bisexual.

It started out when the openly bisexual actress retweeted a fan who used a meme to point out how girly Liv was in comparison to her tomboy sister Maddie. The tweet says, "me when i date a man / me when i date a woman."

When a fan tweeted at her saying, "Still not convinced liv was straight," Dove said, "Maddie was definitely gay."

And when another fan wanted confirmation on Maddie's sister, Liv, Dove said that Liv is bisexual.

Dove didn't stop there. She confirmed that other characters she's played are also members of the LGBTQ+ community, like Mal who is Maleficent's daughter on the show Descendants, who Dove confirmed was pansexual.

And her character Ruby from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was asexual.

All of this is great to know now, but if we could get some more LGBTQ+ representation while these shows are in production I'd love it.
