Dove Has Salted Caramel Gelato Bars Now And We’re Already Obsessed
I wish I could spend the summer on an Italian beach downing Aperol Spritzes and scoops of gelato, but alas...I have a job and bills and adult responsibilities and such. All that's to say the closest I'm going to get to that dream is dessert, and thankfully, DOVE's decadent new Gelato Bars are hardly a consolation prize.
Last week, Mars Wrigley introduced their new take on a brand classic. And while obviously they're delicious, what's the 411 on the flavors? The Triple Chocolate Bar has chocolate gelato, is coated in dark chocolate, and is sprinkled with cookie bits. The other (and my personal favorite) flavor has salted caramel gelato, a dark chocolate shell, and a "butter toffee crisp cloak."
"The new DOVE Gelato line offers our consumers a new way to indulge this summer," marketing director of Mars Ice Cream Emily Strobel said in a statement: "We wanted to leverage the premium ice cream trend to bring a smoother, creamier taste and refined twist to our classic frozen ice cream bars without losing the rich DOVE Chocolate flavor consumers know and love."
According to the same press release, both the Triple Chocolate and Salted Caramel bars are currently available in stores nationwide and are retailing at $4.79 for a box of three.
Obviously, I am already mapping out a game plan for how to fit 20 boxes of gelato bars in my tiny, New York City-sized freezer. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it, OK?
