DOVER — Robert Everett and Brian Hanner were sworn in Monday as the newest members of the Dover Board of Education.

Both were administered the oath of office by retired Judge Edward O'Farrell.

During the meeting, the board agreed to reconvene the district's Safety Task Force.

"We will be inviting both experts and stakeholders such as school staff and administrators, parents/community members, one or two school board members and our partners within the local safety agencies such as police and fire/EMT representatives," said Superintendent Karie McCrate.

"We will be reviewing current practices and policies and looking for ways to continue improvement and progress, which is a goal in all areas of the district."

Everett and board member Kyle Stemple volunteered to serve on the task force.

"We will be extending invitations to those who have been on this task force in the past, as well as expanding it, as needed," McCrate said. "We hope to schedule the first meeting within the next several weeks."

In other action, the board hired James Kline as a new head coach for the varsity girls soccer team.
