Dover woman, 51, dies in Fairfield car crash

A Dover resident died as a result of a two-car crash Tuesday on Passaic Avenue in Fairfield.

The woman, Marina Prudencio, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:00 p.m. after her Chevy Cavalier collided with another vehicle, a spokesperson from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office stated.

The driver of the second vehicle, another woman who was not identified, was rushed to Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains where she survived her injuries, the spokesperson said.

Both Fairfield police and officers from the Essex County Major Crimes Task Force continue to investigate the crash and no charges have been filed as of Wednesday.
