Downed line leaves 1,600 AEP Texas customers without power in Corpus Christi

A downed power line near the La Molina neighborhood left more than 1,600 AEP Texas customers without power Wednesday afternoon.

According to AEP Texas, a downed power line on Trojan Drive caused the outage. AEP Texas crews worked to repair the line and estimated power would be restored around 4:30 p.m.

Winds up to 30 mph blew through the area Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.

A Wind Advisory was issued for the Coastal Bend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Gusts up to 40 mph are possible, the NWS said.
