Downpours Cause Flooding in New Orleans Area
A severe thunderstorm lashed southern Louisiana on Friday, June 10, causing flooding in New Orleans and surrounding areas.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood warning for New Orleans and nearby Metairie and Kenner that was extended through at least 3:15 pm. Swaths of southern Louisiana were to remain under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 pm, the NWS said.
