Downtown Holland's biggest sale of the year is this weekend
HOLLAND — Eighth Street in Downtown Holland will be closed to traffic starting Thursday evening as Downtown Holland puts on its biggest sale of the year.
More than 50 shops and restaurants have signed up to participate in this year's Sidewalk Sales event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Eighth Street will close to traffic at 6:30 p.m. Thursday during the Street Performer Series and remain closed through the end of Sidewalk Sales on Saturday to give plenty of space for shoppers to browse the deals that will be on display on Eighth Street's sidewalks Friday and Saturday.
While no parking will be allowed on Eighth Street during the sale, free public parking is available at the Seventh and Ninth Street parking decks and at the Holland Civic Center Place lot.
Adient Lakewood, this year's sponsor, will host a table outside Butch's Dry Dock, 44 E. Eighth St., where visitors can learn about the automotive company's new Holland production line and the over 100 job opportunities at the company.
