This downtown Macon picnic brings 15 food trucks, wine and more. Here’s when and where

An array of food trucks will flood downtown Macon this Saturday as part of the Picnic in the Park event at Carolyn Crayton Park.

The picnic, which is set to happen rain or shine, will feature 15 different food trucks and a live music performance, according to a Macon-Bibb County press release. Picnic blankets, lawn chairs and tents are welcome at the family event that runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12.

“This is a great way to support local businesses while enjoying our park and giving families a fun event where they can spend time together,” said Recreation Director Robert Walker in a press release. “These picnics have been a great success and we’re excited to have another opportunity for more people to come out.”

This year’s picnic, the sixth iteration of the event put on in downtown Macon, comes after two others this year back in April and June this year. In addition to food trucks and live music, there will also be a wine truck, frozen treats from Macon Water Ice, a foam pit and a “Keep Cool Zone” for kids.
