Downtown restaurant closing after over a decade serving Greenville

After over a decade of serving Greenville, a restaurant known for its lunch buffet and its flavorful Indian cuisine is closing.

Handi Restaurant, located at 18 N. Main St., in downtown Greenville will close its doors after service on April 3.

The news was shared via a short announcement from David Thompson, with Madalyn Pro, an equipment liquidation service business that is handling the sale of Handi's restaurant equipment.

Reached earlier in the week, the owners of the restaurant declined to share a set closing date.

Owner, Seema Bhanot said she was looking forward to taking a break to be with family. Bhanot also shared that looked forward to some time to rest and think about the next step but had no plans to share at this time.
