A downtown restaurant will be closing its doors for the next few days as it transitions into a new space.

Louisiana-style restaurant Swamp Daddy's is moving down the hall at the Jones421 building at 421 N. Phillips Ave.

The restaurant announced Tuesday afternoon on Facebook they were closing the restaurant for the rest of the week as they move from Suite 105 to its new suite, which formerly housed MK Threads and BlueMoon Designs boutiques.

Owner Del'Inkka Beaudion said she hopes to open part of the new space by the coming weekend for customers.

The restaurant is still participating in the 2022 Downtown Sioux Falls Burger Battle with its "Banging 105 Burger," honoring its former suite address. Beaudion said on a Facebook Live announcement earlier this week she wanted to "go out with a bang" at the former location.

The move will not only include a bigger space, but also an expanded menu, beer and wine sales, and dine-in seating for about 80 people, Beaudion told the Argus Leader in 2021.

The move will take Swamp Daddy's from an express, to-go style restaurant to a more competitive dine-in locale, with access to patio seating for eaters.
