Doylestown Sisters Start Yard Sign Business For Charity
DOYLESTOWN, PA — After seeing their world turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic, two Doylestown sisters found a way to give back to their community.
Rylee Decker, 14, and her sister Grace, 11, have launched 2YardNinjas, a yard sign business with feel-good messages for all sorts of occasions, including birthdays, back-to-school events and gender reveals.
Each month, the Decker sisters donate any profits from the business to a charity of their choice. In July, they donated $500 to the nonprofit Bucks County Housing Group, while proceeds from August went toward the Travis Manion Foundation, a local nonprofit that assists veterans and their families. This month's charity is the Bucks County SPCA.
"We knew everyone was struggling," Rylee Decker said. "I thought, 'We don't really need the money. What are we gonna do with it?'"
Initially planned as a short-term project, the sisters are looking to keep their business going into the winter months, though the ground freezing over may present some challenges, their mother Erin Jensen said.
"They want to keep doing it. And I'm fully supportive of it as long as it doesn't get too cold and icy," she said.
