Dozens of Californians show up to honor loved ones lost to gun violence

Pictures of dozens of people lost to gun violence lined the west steps of the California Capitol Thursday afternoon as families gathered for the Peace in the Streets anti-gun rally. Nicole Clavo's son is among the 3,380 children and teens up to the age of 17 that were killed or injured by firearms in 2015, according to numbers from the Gun Violence Archive. In 2021, that number skyrocketed and the archive shows that 5,692 children and teens up to the age of 17 were killed or injured by gun violence.
