Dozens choose dream school on National Signing Day

SAN DIEGO (KUSI)– National Letter of Intent Day means athletes from all over San Diego County make their college intentions known. We had five stops around San Diego as these young stars make their first steps towards their futures in college athletics.

Steele Canyon: Joseph Hunt, Black Hills State

“I chose to go to Black Hills State because they have a great culture over there and I think they can win it all,” Hunt said.

La Costa Canyon: Trevor Ladd, University of Virginia

“I fell in love with their coaching staff,” Ladd said. “My sister goes there now, my dad attended and played golf there. It’s a great place, great education.”

Carlsbad: Mason Walsh, Air Force Academy

“They offer a lot of great things football wise,” Walsh reflecting on committing. “But being able to have the opportunity to go into a career and serve my country is definitely super interesting to me and something I’m super excited for.”

Oceanside: David Porotesano, UC Davis

“Coach Fale came in and turned this program around and I’m extremely grateful for what he’s done for me,” Porotesano shared.

Rock Academy: Donald Moore, CSU Pueblo

“I’m thankful for all the support,” Moore said. “I feel like this was the best place for me. I’m nervous, but I know this was the right decision.”
