Neighbors are fed up with drivers barreling through a busy intersection in southeast Atlanta and putting their lives at risk.
In a Channel 2 Action News exclusive, drivers have been caught on camera blowing through stop signs at a busy intersection filled with pedestrians.
It is happening in southeast Atlanta in the Summerhill neighborhood of the city, not far from the old Turner Field.
Channel 2′s Dave Huddleston has been looking into this problem for months, and learned it’s not just an issue at this one intersection.

“It’s a pretty bad issue for sure,” Kiera O’Reilly said.
O’Reilly works at a bakery at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Reed Street in the neighborhood. She said you’d be shocked at the number of people who blow through this stop sign.
“50% of the time I say people stop, and 50% of the time people run the stop sign,” she explained.
For the last four months, a Channel 2 photographer has recorded video of dozens of drivers, from a Kroger delivery truck to an Atlanta work truck, failing to stop, or rolling through this intersection.
Domonique Whitaker who does security for the area says he also saw traffic violations, even while we were doing the interview.
“It’s crazy, I don’t know if they not paying attention or can’t see the stop sign,” Whitaker said.
Huddleston saw car after car roll or speed through the stop sign.
Max Fisher says inpatient drivers in southeast Atlanta don’t want to even wait at stop lights.
“I’ve had someone barreling down behind me and rather than stopping they just cut around to oncoming traffic,” Fisher said.
