Dozens of ‘emergency protests’ announced in WA and across U.S. after Roe v. Wade decision
Across the U.S. and Washington State on Friday morning, abortion rights activists and organizations responded to the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade with calls for massive activism and “emergency protest.”
In Seattle, RiseUp4Abortion will be holding a protest tonight at 5 p.m.

Elsewhere in Washington State, emergency protests have been announced for Olympia, Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and other cities.
Tacoma’s “Bans off Our Bodies” rally will take place at 5 p.m. at the U.S. District Court Building.
Bellingham’s “Bans Off Our Bodies” protest will take place at 5 p.m. on June 24 at Bellingham’s City Hall.
Olympia will have a protest at 11 a.m. on June 24 at Tivoli Fountain located at 1199 Capital Way S. Later protests are expected in the same area but have not been formally announced yet.
Gig Harbor will have a protest at 5 p.m. on June 24 at Corners of Point Fosdick and Olympic Drive, located at 5006 Point Fosdick Drive.
We Won’t Go Back will be staging protests across the country in the next few weeks and provides a map of future events.
Governors of Pacific Northwest states also responded to the Supreme Court’s decision:

In Minneapolis, one of the first U.S. cities to announce a protest, groups promised, “We won’t back down.”

In Chicago, an announcement for a protest at Federal Plaza promised, “We won’t go back.”
