Dozens of low-income residents in West Sac mobile home park face possible eviction

Dozens of mobile home park residents in West Sacramento could soon find themselves homeless in the middle of an ongoing public health crisis, during the holiday season. "Things could have been handled way differently, in a way that did not cause so much stress," said student Berenis Leonard, who has lived at Westward Estates since 2016. Leonard, along with over 60 others living at the mobile home park, received eviction notices from property management in October. The situation however, began to unfold back in March, when inspectors from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) began to issue code violations to residents, requiring them to fix various health and safety violations.
