Dozens of MS Coast restaurants will be open on Christmas Day. Here’s the list & menus
Those who want to let someone else do the cooking on Christmas will find several restaurants open across South Mississippi.
Other restaurants are accepting orders ahead for holiday desserts and other trimmings to make feeding family and friends easier.
All 12 Coast casinos will have restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on Christmas Day.
Here’s the list of local restaurants and national chains open for Christmas 2023:
▪ Saltgrass Steak House at the base of the Biloxi Bay Bridge on U.S. 90 will be open for dine-in or delivery, and offering the full menu of Angus steaks, seafood and their own desserts, such as pecan bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with bourbon cream sauce. Holiday hours may vary from regular times.
▪ Margaritaville Resort Biloxi on U.S. 90 in East Biloxi will be busy with families playing at Escape Arcade & Family Entertainment Center. “On Christmas Day everything will be open,” said spokeswoman Tessy Lambert. Doe’s Eat Place, Margaritaville Cafe and Farruggio’s pizza restaurant will be serving family favorites.
▪ White House Hotel on U.S. 90 in Biloxi will put out a Christmas Eve brunch buffet from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, with favorites and festive fare. It’s $45 for adults and 30 for kids 12 and under. On Christmas Day, Cora’s restaurant at the White House has a four-course, price fixed menu on Christmas Day for $50 per person, with choices of soup, salad, entrée and dessert, like Nutella-stuffed gingerbread or cherry cobbler.
▪ Waffle House restaurants are found all across the Coast. They’re open Christmas and every day, so customers can order their hash browns scattered, smothered or covered for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Casinos restaurants
▪ Mignon’s Steak & Seafood has Christmas Day special ($75) for dine-in only is from 5-10 p.m. The 3-course meal starts with lobster bisque or a Bibb salad with honey champagne vinaigrette. Choose an entree of Gulf Grouper or beef tenderloin and savor cranberry bread pudding for dessert.
▪ Palace Buffet is open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. ($33 with player’s card) and includes prime rib along with other favorites.
Treasure Bay Casino Biloxi restaurants are open to ages 21 and older.
▪ Infinity Buffet has a special Christmas feats with carved ham, roast turkey, smoked brisket and the choice to add crab legs or not. The buffet will be open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. The cost is $47.99 with crab legs or $25.49 without when presenting a player’s card.
▪ Holiday Dinner in The Den is available Dec. 23-25 and the three-course fixed price menu is available from 11 a.m. to midnight at the ninth floor restaurant. It features a choice of lobster Thermidor ($48) or 8 oz Filet ($46), with soup or salad and dessert.
▪ Holiday 2 Go at Infinity Buffet will provide an entire Christmas feast for 10-12 people. Choose turkey or ham dinner for $150, side dishes and dessert. Pre-order through Dec. 18.
Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi will be serving holiday favorites at its newly-restyled buffet and at some of the resort’s restaurants.
▪ The Buffet will be laden with snow crab legs, prime rib, glazed ham, spicy shrimp boil and many other special entrees, sides and holiday desserts. ($65.99).
▪ Stalla — Reservations are required at the Beau’s Italian restaurant, which will have Christmas specials of Osso Bucco ($48), and butterscotch Budino, olive oil shortbread and sea salt ($12).
▪ Salt & Ivy — Reservations are encouraged. The Christmas platter ($59) will feature a parsnip, apple and walnut soup, chicken with butternut squash puree and winter berry cheesecake.
IP Casino Biloxi has Christmas splurges and lower priced holiday meals for those who spent big on Christmas gifts.
▪ Bayview Café has a Christmas glazed ham with Brussels sprouts, sweet potato hash and eggnog cheesecake ($26.99).
▪ Thirty-two restaurant at the top of the tower is open from 5-10 p.m. Christmas night. Among the choices on the special menu are roast swordfish ($58), a cola-braised pork shank with collard greens (48) and peppermint bark cheesecake for dessert.
▪ Tien has a special appetizer and entrees, like spicy chicken miso noodles ($20.88) and lemongrass honey soy pork ribeye chop ($34.88).
Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville
▪ Under the Oak Cafe will brighten the holidays with beef short ribs ($52) and creamy eggnog pudding.
▪ Scarlet’s Steak & Seafood is featuring a special herb crusted rack of lamb ($65), lobster Thermidor ($80) and dark chocolate Buche de Noel ($15).
Hard Rock Casino Biloxi has several restaurants open for Christmas, including Ruth’s Chris Steak House for a fine steak, Hard Rock Cafe for a juicy burger and Sugar Factory for those who crave a savory pizza, crepes and salads or over-the-top cocktails, milkshakes and floor-to-ceiling candy.
Hollywood Gulf Coast will put out a Christmas buffet from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., featuring turkey and cornbread dressing, fried catfish, shrimp and oysters and many other favorites that make the holiday tasty. A huge selection of pies and cakes, bread pudding and cobblers will fill the dessert tables.
Island View Casino Gulfport has several restaurants open for ages 21 and older. On The Buffet are holiday specialties like praline crusted sweet potatoes, Cajun fried turkey, boiled Gulf shrimp and Island View’s 18-hour low and slow smoked pork with all the trimmings ($27.99). The buffet is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
▪ C&G Grille a Christmas special with soup or salad, a choice of roast turkey or shrimp scampi and chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert (25). Served from 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m.
▪ The Diner will serve roast turkey and trimming plus sweet potato pie ($19) from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
▪ Dockside Deli starts the holiday meal with crab and corn bisque, followed by turkey or pork tenderloin and apple crumble for dessert ($22). It’s from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
▪ Carter Green Steak House is plating a holiday dinner of salad, beef tenderloin or grilled swordfish and pumpkin pie ($45), from 5-10 p.m.
Silver Slipper Casino in Hancock County is open Christmas dinner and a Christmas buffet to those 21 and older. Crab legs and jumbo shrimp will be on the buffet all day from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. ($49.95). A special holiday meal will be available at Blue Bayou Bar & Grill.
Help with dinner
Several restaurants and supermarkets are taking orders for entire Christmas dinners or sides, breads and desserts. Some of those include:
▪ Greenhouse Biloxi is taking orders for pickup on Dec. 22 and 23, and are making quiche and biscuits for breakfast, dinner rolls plus pies and tarts for dessert.
▪ Cracker Barrel is making appetizers, holiday ham, biscuits and desserts that can be ordered online for pickup on Dec. 23.
▪ Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has dinner feasts and other specialties to feed a few or a crowd, featuring turkey, ham and holiday side, or barbecue for those who prefer.
▪ Rouses Supermarket is cooking ham, turkey, oyster and cornbread dressing and many other specialties for Christmas. Everything is fully cooked and sold chilled to take home, heat and eat.
▪ Winn-Dixie stores have complete ham or turkey dinners that feed 6-8 people for $79.99. The feast comes with gravy, sides and pies.
