Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Tuesday, where he discussed the public anger towards him when he was just trying to stop the spread of covid-19.

“I never would have imagined when I was training in medicine,” Dr. Fauci said, “That we would reach a situation where there would be such extraordinary divisiveness in the country.”

Despite the fact that the doctor was working with the Trump administration, the president repeatedly disagreed with him publicly. Many of his president’s supporters falsely accused the expert of lying.

“I consider the country as my patient, metaphorically, where [I] really want to take care of them,” Dr. Fauci said, “It's sort of like part of that group wants no part of you, and actually attacks you.”

Even though Dr. Fauci is now used to the criticism, he still does understand it. He said, “You know, I'm used to it now [Jimmy Kimmel], but it was a real jolt and a shock early on, when you get completely criticized and attacked because you're saying things that are trying to save the lives and preserve the health of people.”
