Blow joined Christus Spohn's leadership team in 2006 when he was named trauma medical director. He served as chief medical officer from 2015 to 2019 and became Christus Spohn Health System's president and chief medical officer in 2019.
Cecilia Garcia Akers, Garcia's daughter and foundation president, introduced Blow as the 2022 keynote speaker at a press conference on Wednesday.
"Back in 2015 I met Dr. Blow," she said. "We got the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Family Health Center built, and it is a tremendous asset to the community.
"One thing about Dr. Blow ... he is so much like my father. My father took care of people, and that's what Dr. Blow does."
The Dr. Hector P. Garcia Legacy Luncheon will be held on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Henry Garrett Ballroom of the American Bank Center.
Individual tickets may be purchased for $125, and table, program ads and sponsorships are available at www.drhectorpgarciafoundation.org.
