Dr. Jasmeet Bains talks Kern medical school, Delano car seat event

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Assemblywoman Dr. Jasmeet Bains stopped by the 17 News studio to talk more about her plans for a Kern County medical school, as well as a car seat event happening in Delano.

According to Bains, the idea of a medical school in Kern has been around for several years.

“As a physician, I’m tired of seeing people show up in late stages of chronic illnesses that could have been prevented earlier,” said Bains. “I’m tired of working so hard to recruit physicians. It’s time we grow our own.”
