Dr. Phil McGraw has announced the launch of his new cable network called “Merit Street Media” based in Fort Worth, where he will debut a new version of the Dr. Phil show in primetime.

“This is actually not my network, this is our network,” Dr. Phil said in a video announcement on X this Monday. “This is something that’s going to be focused entirely on what’s important to you.”

Texas television audiences are not new to Dr. Phil’s franchise show with its personal, and often, emotional discussions. Back in 2021, the wife of Arlington firefighter Elijah Snow told Dr. Phil her suspicions of a cover up around her husband’s death during an anniversary trip to Mexico. Jamie Snow said she was never shown his body, was forced to pay bribes of $100 a photograph to police to see pictures of his body to identify him, had trouble getting the cooperation of resort administrators in her search for her husband and was lied to about his injuries.

“I was begging, I was crying, I was begging them to just let me see his body,” Jamie Snow told Dr. Phil McGraw in video on the show’s website, the Star-Telegram previously reported..

The new broadcast center spanning over five acres is completing construction in the Fort Worth Alliance area. Dozens of longtime Dr. Phil staffers have made the transition and relocated their families to Texas to continue working alongside McGraw.

Merit Street Media will bring essential news and entertainment to viewers, a news release on Nov. 4 said. It will offer multiple hours of original daily programming, including live news broadcasts that “will bring fact-based truth and transparency.”

In March 2023, after 21 seasons, McGraw announced the end of his daytime show “Dr. Phil.” On the new channel, “Dr. Phil Primetime” will premiere on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. CT. The show will continue to focus on real people facing real problems in our society, the website says.

“I absolutely love talking to real people about real problems. People who aren’t just complaining but are actively looking for real solutions to better their lives,” McGraw said in the press release announcement. “American families and our core values are under attack. I love this country, and I believe family is the backbone of our society. Together we are going to stand strong and fight for the very soul and sanity of America and get things that matter back on track.”
