  • In Dr. Pimple Popper's new Instagram video, she helps a patient with a giant pilar cyst that grew on his scalp.

  • The cyst only spurts out a bit of gunk at a time and very slowly.

  • Ultimately, Dr. Pimple Popper has to cut out the whole cyst, sac and all, to ensure it doesn't reappear.

It can be difficult to remember every little thing on the to-do list. Even dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, a.k.a. Dr. Pimple Popper, admits it can be a struggle. But, she makes sure never to miss the important things, like removing a massive cyst sac.

When a patient comes in with a pilar cyst, she knows exactly what to do. Dr. Pimple Popper hinted at what's to come in the Instagram caption: "When you remember that one thing you’ve been trying to think of all day. Got it! #drpimplepopper #sacremoval"

She also added some extra intel on the video: "many people have multiple pilar cysts." The video jumps right in with a close-up shot of Dr. Pimple Popper squeezing away. There's a tiny hole and a squiggle of gunk shooting out. It continues for a while, but the cyst still appears totally stuffed.

So, Dr. Pimple Popper switches to a scissor strategy. She trims around and pulls at the whole cyst until it's free. When it emerges, one fan writes "It looks like a Lima bean."

Bean or not, that was a doozy of a pop. Another fan commented, "I almost threw up, but had to see the ending. 🤢"

Still, many fans had lingering questions. "How does this happen?!? And why is seeing the resulting gaping hole so satisfying?" They can re-watch the pop video as they wait for Dr. Pimple Popper to respond.
