ROCHESTER — Superintendent Kyle Repucci and School Street School Principal Suzanne Boutin share that students celebrated Dr. Seuss Day by reading and participating in themed activities.

On Friday, March 3, the school honored the author's birthday as part of Read Across America, a week-long literacy awareness and reading motivation campaign sponsored by the National Education Association.

Rochester Police Officer Matthew Kimball read to kindergarten and grade three and Officer Alexander Howard-Koppes read to grades one, two and four.

Students teamed up with members of other grades to read Dr. Seuss books, participated in Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.), and enjoyed cupcakes while watching a video of the Dr. Seuss Book "Sneetches."

Teachers participated in the event during Teacher Switch-a-Roo, where they read books to the grade below theirs. The kindergarten teacher read to the fourth graders.
