As the Senior Bowl approaches, we get another look at how the NFL draft could shake out.

For LSU, all eyes will be on No. 7. Derek Stingley Jr is viewed as the top cornerback of the class but lately, it seems that he is losing some of that traction. His biggest competition is Cincinnati’s Ahmad Gardner. In this particular mock it is Gardner that goes to the New York Jets leaving Stingley still on the board for teams to take.

It remains to be seen how all of these head coach hirings will impact decisions made by teams come draft time. For now, we will focus on which LSU Tigers are being selected in the latest mock draft from our colleagues at the Draft Wire.

Editor Luke Easterling has a new mock going three rounds that we will focus on here. A pair of Tigers going in the first 100 picks.

First up is the All-American cornerback.

What DraftWire Says…

Regardless of who is running this defense in 2022 and beyond, they’ll need more help at corner, and this scenario is a fantastic way to make that happen. Stingley’s film is inconsistent, and his injury-riddled 2021 campaign begs durability questions, but there’s no denying his skill set and potential.

The Vikings have plenty of items to address, such as a head coach. However, they do need to figure out some of the holes on the defensive side of the ball. Both Mackensie Alexander and Patrick Peterson are set to be free agents following the season. Stingley could fill one of those vacancies.

There is no doubt that Stingley is talented but can he stay healthy for the first time in three seasons? That is the big question for him and a reason that you could see him start sliding down the draft board come April.

Next, a linebacker gets selected

Pick 03.93: Cincinnati Bengals take Damone Clark

As of late, the Cincinnati Bengals have shown an affinity for former LSU Tigers. They currently have Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Thaddeus Moss, and Tyler Shelvin on the team. Clark would be the next one in line to join the Bengals if this mock draft holds true. They could use help in a variety of places including at linebacker.

Cincinnati could lose Jordan Evans to free agency, while he is viewed as more of a reserve guy and special teams player, that is still a hole to fill. Adding Clark would make sense given the number of other holes on the team that could be filled through free agency.
