Drag Race UK and Dancing on Ice star The Vivienne has announced that she's splitting up from her husband David.

The reality star took to Instagram to share the news, asking her fans respect both her and David's privacy at this difficult time.

"As many may have noticed, David and I have been apart recently. We have made the decision to part ways after an amazing 5 and half years. We are still very much friends, but sometimes life gets in the way and people grow apart," she wrote.

The Vivienne added: "We wish each other the absolute best and will always be part of each others lives. We'd ask that you please respect our privacy at this time. Thank you. James and David."

Many Drag Race stars shared their support for The Vivienne by commenting a series of heart emojis, including Tia Kofi, Bimini Bon Boulash, Nina West, Kandy Muse and Olivia Lux.

This Morning's Vanessa Feltz, who recently spilt from her partner Ben Ofoedu, added: "So sorry to hear and available to take you out for dinner whenever you are free!!"

The Vivienne, who took home the crown on series one of Drag Race UK, competed on Dancing on Ice earlier this year and placed third overall.

The drag queen admitted that she frequently left the costume department rolling their eyes as she had a "heavy say" in what she got to wear on the rink.

"Usually I come in on the day before the show and I say: 'Can we put like another ten thousand rhinestones on that please,'" she said. "And you can see all the poor girls going [rolls eyes]. They dread it when I walk into the costume room and I'm like: 'Morning girls!' and they're like: 'No!'"

RuPaul's Drag Race UK airs on BBC Three in the UK and streams on WOW Presents Plus in the US.
