Drake Calls Out 'Offensive' California Country Club For 'Racial Profiling'
Drake had an experience during the annualCoachella festival last weekend that was quite “offensive,” according to the Grammy Award winner.
On Sunday, the “Fake Love” singer posted an image onInstagramof local La Quinta, California, country club,The Madison Club, along with a caption dubbing the private residential community the “most offensive” place he has ever stayed.
“The most offensive place I have ever stayed in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling #Coachella,” he wrote. He later deleted the post from his Instagram account.
While the singer-rapper didn’t provide additional details surrounding his experience, a rep for the clubhouse ― located a few miles away from the location of the festival at theEmpire Polo Club in Indio― issued an apology to Drake via a statement issued toPeople.com.
“We are trying to get this issue fixed as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and for you to experience such a thing is embarrassing for us,” the statement read. “We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will be issuing out a formal apology to you and the public. We will also be investigating this as we do not tolerate racial discrimination.”
Despite his unpleasant experience at the country club,which touts itself as having“one of the most spectacular golf courses in all of the United States,” Drake did seem to enjoy his surprise performance during Future’s set at Coachella on Saturday.
