Draymond Green donates $100K in memory of former teammate Adreian Payne

Those who knew former Dayton basketball start Adreian Payne continue to express their condolences and vow to keep his memory alive.

Current NBA star and former teammate of Payne, Draymond Green, said he wants Payne’s memory to live on so he’s donating $100,000 to a fund in Payne’s name.

Green talked after his team, the Golden State Warriors, beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 101-98, on May 9- the day Payne was shot and killed.

Green said his wife, Hazel Renee, is also donating.

“My emotions are kind of all over the place now. Hazel and I are going to donate $100,000 to a fund in Adreian’s name,” Green said.

He continued by saying, “Let’s do something in honor of Adreian. If that’s name something on the (Michigan State) campus after him, if that’s some scholarship for some kids in Dayton, whatever that is, I call on my Spartan family to band together and do something in Adreian’s name.
