The boxing event at Fiserv Forum on April 1 will now feature at least two Milwaukee natives, as undefeated Marquette grad Luis Angel Feliciano will fight veteran boxer Clarence Booth.

Feliciano, 29, will be on the undercard for the main event, which features south side native and former United Fighting Championship great Anthony Pettis, 36, versus boxing Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr., 54.

Pettis has a mixed martial arts gym in Franklin and is currently signed to a deal with the Professional Fighters League. Pettis is set to make his pro boxing debut next month.

The promoter for the event is Gamebred Boxing, which is owned by UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal. Representatives with Gamebred were not immediately available for comment, but Dean Toole, a representative with Gamebred, posted the fight poster to Instagram for Feliciano-Booth shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Feliciano, who is 16-0, will face off with Booth, who is 21-7, at the Saturday night event. Feliciano recently told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he envisioned himself fighting at Fiserv, and now that dream is a reality.

"It's a dream come true," said Feliciano, who was born in Milwaukee to Puerto Rican parents. "This is something that I've dreamt my entire life, as far as when I got into the sport of boxing. As a professional I haven't fought in Milwaukee yet. This is definitely a big moment. I definitely want to make a statement."

Feliciano said he was scheduled to fight either last weekend or this weekend on a card being promoted by Premier Boxing Champions, but that fell through after his opponent pulled out of the fight.

He was back to square one, painstakingly attempting again to secure a fight. Feliciano, a super lightweight fighter, returned to the boxing ring last year after not boxing for 2½ years, due to COVID-19 and issues with his former promoter, Golden Boy Promotions. He is currently not signed to a promoter.

Feliciano sailed to victory in May against Hector Colin in Mexico and won by majority decision, with one judge scoring the fight a draw, in August against Alejandro Frias Rodriguez. Feliciano was knocked down in the first round of the Rodriquez bout, but returned the favor in the fourth round.

Being added to next month's card was made possible by the help of Toole and Pettis, Feliciano said.

Feliciano's opponent in four weeks, Booth, will be no easy task, Feliciano said. "He's very experienced, he's a good fighter. It's going to be a good fight for the fans, we'll put on a show," Feliciano said.

Tickets are available for the event through Ticketmaster.com. It is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
