'A Dream of Mine': Mom Surprises Teary-Eyed Son With Phillies World Series Tickets

A teary-eyed Philadelphia Phillies fan was overcome with joy after his parents surprised him with tickets to see his favorite baseball team play in the World Series.

Footage filmed by Rossanna Heilig on October 26 shows her 13-year-old son’s reaction. Heilig asks her son why he’s crying. “This has been a dream of mine,” her son says, as he wipes tears from his eyes.

“It was very emotional for us all since we are able to go as a family and we are so full of joy and excitement,” Heilig told Storyful.

The Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 4-3 on October 23, claiming their spot in the World Series. The Philadelphia team will face the Houston Astros in Game 1 on Friday.

Ticket prices for the first Phillies home game were running between $900 and $10,000 on Wednesday, according to local reports, while tickets to a possible Game 5 were up to $22,000. The team hasn’t been in the World Series since 2009, according to reports Credit: Rossanna Heilig via Storyful
