Drew Barrymore will bring ’different conversations’ to daytime television with new talk show

Drew Barrymore is adding talk show host to her expanding resume.

The actress, author, movie producer, cosmetics mogul and lifestyle maven will front “The Drew Barrymore Show,” which premieres nationally Sept. 14.

“People are looking to have a different conversation. I think they are looking to — if they are putting themselves out there — I assume, to reveal things about them that are not commonly known,” the 45-year-old renaissance woman explained about her approach to daytime talk to Entertainment Tonight. “I think it is really weird when people choose to do a profession, but you can’t know anything about me. It’s like, well, you took the wrong job, it is fair game. Most people want to present their heart and humor, the same thing on this show.”

The CBS Television Distribution-produced show will feature pop culture segments, funny sketches, and visits from Barrymore’s celebrity friends like Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, and Nicole Richie.
