Drew Barrymore Interviews the Forbes Masters Team on Her Talk Show

Drew Barrymore’s love for all things interior design led her to connect with the dynamic Atlanta-based team Forbes Masters on The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday. Tania Forbes and Monet Masters, who took part in Architectural Digest’s The Iconic Home digital experience earlier this year, revealed on Barrymore’s show that their harmonious partnership actually had an unexpectedly rocky start. According to Masters, the pair met when she was taking on her first commercial project a few years back, which was both “exciting” and “overwhelming.” When her clients ended up calling in Forbes to assist her, she was resistant, Masters said. As a result, she was fired and Forbes was hired. But from that ending came a promising new beginning.
“I ended up calling her that night and told her I want to keep in contact with her,” Masters said. Now, the pair co-run their design company, specializing in “bold, eclectic” designs that are “still tailored,” according to Forbes. “We don’t really fall into a genre, but we want to do every genre with a punch of something extravagant.”
The pair shared tips for how to elevate home spaces during the pandemic, especially given that everyone is looking to make a good impression on Zoom. Monet suggested using peel-and-stick wallpapers to brighten up a space, or leveraging a console table with some oversize accessories for an effortless backdrop. Forbes’s advice came in one word: paint. “It’s the easiest, cheapest thing you can do,” she said. “[And] paint the trim and the baseboards while you’re at it.”
The pair’s appearance on the show (via Zoom, no less), closed out what Barrymore dubbed Design Week at the end of February, wherein the talk show host welcomed three social media influencers—Jenni Yolo, Carli Alves, and Kate Arends—to reimagine a plain wooden dresser, to impressive results. Barrymore’s friend Chloë Grace Moretz also tried her hand at the challenge, wowing Barrymore with her keen eye.
