Drew Cannon to run for Perry Co. judge in the fall

NEW LEXINGTON − Drew Cannon, an attorney with more than 10 years of experience practicing law almost exclusively in Perry County, has announced his intentions to run for judge of Perry County Municipal Court in the fall general election.

He is seeking to replace the Honorable Judge Dean L. Wilson, who cannot run for reelection due to age limit laws for judges in the State of Ohio.

Cannon has spent his entire life in Perry County. He is a graduate of New Lexington High School, received his bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University and received his Juris Doctorate from the West Virginia University College of Law. He is the son of Kevin and Judy Cannon.

Cannon is currently the Perry County auditor, holding the position since 2015. He has also been the sole proprietor of Drew Cannon, Attorney at Law since 2013. Prior to being admitted to the bar in the State of Ohio, he spent his law school years working for Perry County Municipal Court. After graduating law school, he interned for Graham & Graham LPA before opening his own law office.

Cannon resides outside of New Lexington with his wife, Maggie, who is the principal at Junction City Elementary School, and their three children, Clayton, Lillie and Camden.

Cannon is a member of numerous professional, fraternal and charitable organizations as well as being on the advisory committee to the New Directions Court, a special docketed court through Perry County Municipal Court.
