It's Drink Week in York County! Here are 10 creative cocktails to try at area bars
Drink week is here, and while York County's beer scene is commendable, the cocktail scene is flourishing as a handful of local establishments are earning credit for their imaginative drink menus.
From quaint speakeasy-style bars to unusual and outside-the-box mixology concepts, York County businesses are innovating mixed drinks, inviting adventurous patrons along for the ride.
Here are 10 unusual cocktails from spots recommended by York County locals. Give them a try and be sure to check out a list of York City Drink Week specials, running until Saturday, Aug. 12.

Black Widow - Archetype Pizza
Where: 33 W. Market St., York
This specialty pizza joint in downtown York offers specialty pizzas, appetizers, hoagies and craft cocktails, including the Black Widow: a cocktail featuring Pineapple Rum, Dark Rum, spiced pineapple, Amaro and activated charcoal.
The Summer Heat - The Fig & Barrel
Where: 25 W. Market St., York
Bringing authentic fare and vintage cocktails with "olde York charm," Fig & Barrel is featuring a spicy and sweet summer drink, The Summer Heat: Cantaloupe puree, Ketel One vodka, fresh lime juice, serrano chili infused syrup, saline, in a Tajin-rimmed glass.
Fruity Bloody - The Circle
Where: 5 E. Walnut St., Hanover
Located in downtown Hanover, The Circle is a favorite among locals for drinks, food and live music. Bartender Jessica Prather has created a fruity play on the classic Bloody Mary cocktail.
The Fruity Bloody is made with Strawberry banana V8, blueberry vodka, garnished with fresh banana, strawberries, and blackberries on top.
Key Lime'tini - Eagle's Nest
Where: 2519 Mount Rose Ave., York
On their extensive cocktail menu, under the liquid dessert section, find the Key Lime’tini, which includes whipped vodka, lime juice, Frangelico hazelnut liquor and Rumchata cream liquor.
Garden Cult - Tutoni's
Where: 108 N. George St., York
The "Garden Cult" seasonal cocktail at Tutoni's in downtown York includes Corralejo Blanco tequila, bell pepper syrup, Lo-Fi Gentian Amaro, lemon and celery bitters.
Spicy Avocado Toast - Victor's Italian Restaurant
Where: 554 S. Ogontz St., York
This historical Italian restaurant in York carries made-to-order pizza, antipasti, pasta and a variety of craft cocktails, including a Spicy Avocado Toast. This cocktail includes house-infused avocado and habanera tequila, house-made avocado feta liqueur, smoked salt bitters, agave and lime juice.

Kate’s Elderflower Martini - White Rose Bar and Grill

White Rose Bar & Grill has been serving generations of guests in historic downtown York, offering seafood, steak, and more, in addition to drinks from their full-service bar which features signature drink, Kate’s Elderflower Martini which includes Nolets Gin, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup and fresh mint.
Mai Tai - King George Speakeasy

This modern speakeasy in downtown York, is an intimate bar and lounge which features lavish soft seating, live entertainment, and a craft cocktail menu.
Their Mai Tai cocktail includes Flor de Cana Rum, Diplomatico Reserva rum, Lazzaroni Amaretto, oregat syrup and lime.
Dat Bread Tho - Revival Social Club
Where: 19 N. George St., York
Revival Social Club offers international flavors to bring York a fine-dining experience, including a rotating menu of craft cocktails.
New to their menu, try the Dat Bread Tho: brioche vodka, calvados raisin juice, and vanilla syrup.

York City Drink Week
New to downtown York this year, the York City Independent Restaurant Association is hosting Drink Week.
From Saturday, Aug. 5 to Saturday, Aug. 12, local restaurants and bars will be offering all types of specialty drinks, from alcoholic, to non-alcoholic, to coffees, milkshakes and beer.
Drink Week is sponsored by Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, and will be featuring the following brands: Crown Apple, Crown Peach, Bulleit Bourbon, Don Julio, Ketel One, along with Ketel One Botanicals and Nolets Gin.
