Drive-In Movies Planned At Tysons Development
TYSONS, VA — While traditional movie theaters are closed due to coronavirus restrictions, movie lovers can find an alternative in the Tysons area. The Boro mixed-use development is hosting drive-in movies starting on June 19.
On select days through July 11, classic family movies will be shown at the lot of the former NADA headquarters at 8400 Westpark Drive, McLean. Movies are sponsored by The Boro's ShowPlace ICON Theatre, which opened earlier this year.
Here is the schedule:
Friday, June 19: Dream Girls
Saturday, June 20: Grease
Thursday, June 25: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone
Friday, June 26: Back To The Future (Part I)
Saturday, June 27: Casablanca
Thursday, July 2: Batman
Friday, July 3: Mission Impossible 3
Thursday, July 9: Willy Wonka
Friday, July 10: Star Trek 2009
Saturday, July 11: Jurassic Park
Moviegoers are encouraged to visit The Boro's restaurants before the shows. On weekends, Boro Place will be turned into a pedestrian-only zone to accommodate outdoor dining and social distancing. Live music and other entertainment will be provided Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per vehicle, but there is limited space for groups of four who bring chairs or blankets. Gates open at 7 p.m., and movies begin at dusk — around 8:30 p.m. Parking spots are first come, first served.
Movie titles are subject to change. For updates, visit theborotysons.com. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
