Drive-thru coffee shop coming to Ashland
Nov. 7—ASHLAND — Baristas at The Human Bean will begin pouring coffee and other specialty beverages this December.
Customers will soon be invited to come get a first taste of the drive-thru's offerings, including specialty-grade coffee, real-fruit smoothies, whole-leaf teas, and hot breakfast items to go.
The building will be at 1305 Fairfax Drive (off of 13th Street).
Mike Chapman and Bettie Chapman, local owners of the new Human Bean location, said the staff looks forward to providing above-par products and exceptional customer service — all with a signature chocolate-covered espresso bean on top.
"We will begin hiring a team soon who will be training and preparing for this grand opening," Chapman said. "Applicants can go to indeed.com to apply for a barista or manager position."
This location is the second Human Bean for the Chapmans, who also own and operate seven local Marco's Pizza restaurants.

The Human Bean coffee company has grown from a single location in southern Oregon to a nationwide brand over the last 25 years.
The Human Bean opened its first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland, Oregon, in 1998, and currently supports more than 260 locations open or under development in 21 states.
