New Drive-Thru COVID Testing Site Opens In Delaware County

SHARON HILL, PA — Delaware County and a local health provider have teamed up to open a new coronavirus testing site in the county.

In partnership with Springfield-based Personic Health Care, the county is now operating a free, drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the Delaware County Emergency Training Center in Sharon Hill.

Testing is available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Anyone 18 and older can get PCR tests, with results in 24 hours, and rapid antigen test, with results in 15 minutes, at the site. Quick results are possible because Personic operates its own testing lab.

Appointments are strongly encouraged. Make an appointment online here.

Testing is free and insurance is not required. However, identification is required and those with insurance are asked to bring their insurance card.

Masks are required at the testing site.

The new site is able to provide free testing to hundreds of Delco residents daily, the county said.

"COVID-19 cases are rising. Testing is an important tool to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to keep our loved ones and the community safe," said Monica Taylor, Chair of Delaware County Council. "This new site will help address the growing demand for testing by expanding access to residents across Delaware County and is being launched as a result of a successful partnership between the County and Personic Health Care, which has been a leader in local testing."

According to the county, Delco has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
