DOH To Host COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic At Twin Lakes Park

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The Department of Health in Sarasota County is expecting a shipment of 3,300 coronavirus vaccine doses soon, Steve Huard, public information officer said in a DOH video update released Friday afternoon.

To distribute these doses, the DOH will host a drive-thru vaccination event at Twin Lakes Park at 6700 Clark Road in Sarasota, he said.

These doses will be available to frontline health care workers and seniors 65 and older in accordance with Governor Ron DeSantis’ distribution plan for Florida, which prioritizes these communities.

The DOH will also introduce a new vaccine appointment registration system Tuesday, Huard said. Information on accessing this new system will be made available on the county’s Department of Health website.

When the county receives larger amounts of the vaccine, the DOH will plan additional distribution sites and pop-up events in southern Sarasota County and communities that aren’t able to travel, he added. The DOH is working closely with partners in the cities of North Port and Venice to identify locations for distribution events.
